RCSC provides traditional classroom and virtual service delivery for students through face-to-face, in-person instruction, Zoom, Pathful Explore, Pathful Explore Junior, Virtual Job Shadow, NEXTUp, Kahoots and Google meets in group settings or individually. In utilizing these methods, we are able to offer an effective one–on-one experience with students as needed or group settings to keep students engaged with their peers
RCSC proposes to focus on the following objectives so that Pre-ETS staff will be able to
utilize many different activities in an effort to ensure the student retains the knowledge
provided during the specific topic of discussion.
RCSC has always provided various service delivery methods depending upon the student’s needs.
The top four are listed.
- Arranging/Coordinating Method-Pre-ETS staff strive to incorporate as many outside activities if possible into our lesson plans, many times we will attend field trips with our classes and while on the field trip combine many of our topics of discussion so the students receive hands on experience, we also arrange guest speakers to come to class and speak to students about various topics so they can get first-hand information from someone working in that environment.
- Facilitating Method-Pre-ETS staff are constantly developing ways to provide instruction in fun, exciting and memorable ways so that the students obtain and retain the information provided, often staff will combine role play activities into lesson plans and instruction so students can act out how a situation or specific incident should be conducted. Staff mostly uses group discussion and group activities to foster trust and teamwork within the classroom.
- Instructing Method-Pre-ETS staff create lesson plans, worksheets and activities for each class and student that participates. Lessons, worksheets and activities are sometimes modified as needed based on the level of students in the classroom. Instruction includes all students, but at any time if a student needs one-on-one assistance to understand something, Pre-ETS staff will provide that as needed.
- Assessing Method-Pre-ETS staff assess the student’s progress within each intervention, objective and milestone in several different ways. Students are sometimes asked to present to the group regarding a specific topic that has been discussed, this provides the student the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and understanding of specific topics. Students are asked to complete a milestone review at the end of each milestone in an effort to capture what information the student felt was most beneficial to them, how they plan to utilize the information obtained etc.
RCSC Pre-ETS Staff present the required content in a variety of Mediums, visual content, audial content
and in a written format. Pre-ETS staff work extremely hard to meet each student’s needs.
Examples of mediums that are used to present the content to students are:
- Face-to-face instruction in a classroom setting or other approved setting
- Virtual instruction via Google Meets, Zoom, etc.
- Role Play for appropriate topics-for example: student/Pre-ETS staff or student/student or teacher/student or teacher/Pre-ETS staff
- Web-based instruction via YouTube, Virtual Job Shadowing, etc.
- Printed material-for example: PowerPoint presentations and handouts with information regarding topics discussed
